On Friday, November 5, the SPN 3530 Theater for Social Justice course hosted a talk on performative activism in times of crisis with Jianna Pagán. Jianna Pagán is a Puerto Rican feminist performer, dedicated to theater and sign language. She is the sign language interpreter for the Barrileras del 8M, a musical group of Afro-Puerto Rican women committed to social and political activism. Pagán has been on the front lines of several causes, among them; inclusion and accessibility for deaf people, government corruption, and the fight against femicides.
